Chris Mararac

Chris Mararac//begin transmission

Chris Mararac is the product of a bastardized childhood congealed from too many '80s Saturday morning cartoons and Encyclopedia Brown books. Often called a pop culture whore, but more often just called a whore, Chris can be found in either the manga or porn section in bookstores. Inspired by David Mack, David Choe, and Art Hughs, Chris veers between abstract art and comic art, trying to find a healthy mix, all the while trying not to be called another David Mack wannabe.

Chris is pretty new to the independent comic scene with a total number of ZERO books, but a number of collaborations. Hopefully that will all change.

Chris is a firm believer that the day is for sleeping (at home or at work) and the night is for painting/drawing/plotting world domination.

Bram and Monica Meehan

Bram + Monica MeehanBram and Monica Meehan are New Englanders by birth, graphic designers by training, comic readers by avocation, and married by mutual consent. They produce the espionage thriller Raised By Squirrels, now available collected into a single book with some extra features.

Though Monica and Bram have relocated from the DC area to Santa Fe, New Mexico, the kind folks at the DC Conspiracy have seen fit to let them participate from afar.

Deborah Orgel

Deb OrgelDeborah Orgel is cartoonist and writer who wishes only half of the time that there could be more sunlight in the day, and the other half of the time she wishes for new pen nib points to be invented.

She has nearly completed an illustrated book/graphic novel, or big honkin' comic (whatever you want to call it) titled The Field Guide to Drinkers, Thinkers, and Intellectual Malingerers. You can see her portfolio at http://www.deborahorgel.com, her weekly webcomic at http://www.idiomat.com, and her sketch and comic blog at http://debliography.blogspot.com.

Chris Piers

Chris PiersChris Piers thinks the thing he remembers most about growing up wasn't the cool glasses of lemonade on the front porch or the smell of freshly harvested tobacco and cotton — no, it was... the swimmin'. Lawd, there was swimmin' most any day the sun was out and even on a few where it wasn't. He'd wander down to the swimmin' hole and sure enough, there was Scooter and Geech and even pretty little Miss Lulu May, sure 'nuff.

Then he read a comic book and it was all indoors, all the time! Chris likes to write and draw but also practices coloring and lettering. He just loves those comic books.

Aside from a few pinups printed in various comics (and does that really count? No.), he has yet to have a publisher to put out his stories. But that's ok. He puts out stuff with the DC Conspiracy and you can always see his new artwork at http://www.tabloidcowboy.com/gallery/ or read about what he's up to and see folks critique his latest art at http://chrispiers.livejournal.com.

Jason Rodriguez

Jason RodriguezJason Rodriguez wears many hats — writer, editor, up-and-coming publisher, the occasional fedora and this wicked funny Goofy/pirate hybrid hat that he got at Disney World three years ago, back when pirates first started becoming "the new monkey". He has a hard time staying on the subject at hand and hates sweet potatoes.

Credits include: Editor for Western Tales of Terror and Elk's Run from Hoarse & Buggy and the upcoming World's End; Writer of various short sequential stories appearing in Elk's Run, WToT, Red Chapel and The Shear Terror Anthology; Publisher and Editor for the upcoming anthology, Postcards; Columnist and discussion moderator over at The Hive; and Workhorse on his storytelling blog, The Moose in the Closet.

Often credited as being a good-looking guy, but only by desperate women.

Jacob Warrenfeltz

Jacob WarrenfeltzFor the past few years, Jacob has been a dabbler in independent comics; illustrating work for four issues of Plastic Farm, contributing to anthologies like Potlatch, Slambang, and the Hurricane Katrina Relief Anthology. He's also produced pin up art for other fantastic books like Johnny Public and Raised by Squirrels. Since joining the Conspiracy in the beginning of ought five he's found himself more and more focused on producing his own book with fellow collaborator Jeff Barrus, The Alberic Heresies. Jacob enjoys working with writers, as he's prone to spout "I'm no writer, don't ask me how to spell that" whenever asked about grammar. No surprise his contribution to the Shear Terror anthology was a silent comic. "I believe firmly in sticking to your strong points, and avoiding the hell out of your weak points."

Aside from comic work, Jacob produces album covers for a few local DC rock bands as well as designed tattoos. He uses a Staedtler mechanical pencil, sable and synthetic brushes, and Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings. He’d like to thank his mother for his talent, but he’d rather thank yours for the inspiration.
