New Book & New Jam

We had a fun meeting last night. No human pyramids this time, just trading comics, showing portfolios around, thinking up new group projects and trips, and drawing.

First up, we will be distributing copies of a new book we printed up this week for Free Comic Book Day to retailers in the D.C. Metro area. FCBD is this Saturday, May 5th so spread the word to friends who may not read comics but might be interested. There should be plenty of cool books from dozens of publishers so all sorts of genres and art styles are represented.

Our book looks like this:

It has 12 different 2-page stories, half of which are in full-color!

We also had a round-table jam over some beers and below is the result. Basically, we decided to honor absentee member Evan Keeling by creating a story based on a similarly-named and looking protaganist, but that's pretty much where the similarities end.

The artist credits go like this:

We never know where these jams will go, and that's what the fun of them are for us. To the readers of this blog, I pose a question: Are they worth looking at? They certainly don't have the benefit of being planned out or having refined artwork, but we have fun and try to make each other laugh. Chime in with your opinions.
