What I Did Friday Night (Not Vegetarian Safe)

What I Did Friday Night (Not Vegetarian Safe)

It better not rain tomorrow. For tomorrow is the first annual DC Conspiracy Barbeque. I’m hosting it. And whereas everyone will be bringing beer and burgers and buns and soda I wanted to make sure we had some good food. Observe.

First up we make some Italian Chicken, marinated in white wine, Italian seasonings, and olive oil:

Next up we have Mustard Marinated steak, marinated in Italian Dressing and, you guessed it, mustard:

And finally, what will eventually become my Barbequed Ribs. They got about another hour of prep tomorrow morning but, for now, I need to marinate them overnight. In 32 ounces of Guinness Goodness.

Don’t you wish you had a group like this where you come from? Expect updated pictures tomorrow of either the BBQ or, if it rains, me sick to my stomach from eating ten pounds of meat.

I take my BBQs seriously, sir. I expect the same from your comments.

Oh man, that made me laugh, and hungry, and nostalgic for those Colonial Village grillouts... >sigh< Drink a couple brews for me + Bram.

Also, I think you have our old kitchen.

Yours is a little bigger. I also have the sink pressed against the stove, two counter lengths and the fridge pressed against the counter.

But everything else is identicle, they never really refurbish this CV places, do they?

Well at least with the sink off to one side, you end up with some useable counter space. I remember balancing cutting boards on the trash can and/or over the sink to get more room.

It was lowest-bidder renovations when CV went condo back in the '70s/'80s... only way you're going to get anything good is to do it yourself.

Hope you didn't get (too) rained out....

Yeah, we have enough counter space - a baker's rack with counter tap in the dining room in case we need more.

BBQ went well - we got about 5 hours in before it started to rain. I'll post pictures, right now I'm dealing with Arlington County PD because Robin's car was impounded while she's in Singapore. They put up a No parking sign where she was parked so a moving company can have those spots on Sunday.

Do you miss CV or what?
