Are there any real hip hoppers...

in the place right about now?

For the past 6 months I've listened to "The Peter Rosenberg Show" on WJFK 106.7. The show had been on a night shift, but I didn't catch it until it came to it's most recent daytime schedule.

Now, I'm not pretending to be a tremendous hip hop fan, but I really found myself interested in the local hip hop talk that Peter (the host) and his co-host Daryl discuss on a regular basis. It also reminded me of a lot of friends I had in High School. We maybe didn't dress the same, we maybe didn't use the same slang, but we appreciated the same stuff.

Anyway, I'm sad to report that the radio station is shuffling it's lineup once again (to tell you the truth, the stations ratings have been in a free fall since he-who-must-not-be-named left for Serius in December) and TPRS is getting bumped out of it's spot. For whatever reason I think the primarily white upper middle class audience just didn't get the show. They'll still be around, doing a weekend show, and waiting for their next opportunity break bad on yall.

A couple of months ago the show announced that they'd be doing a mix CD to represent the tastes on the show. I emailed Peter and asked him if I could do the art for the cover, since I'm such a 'man fan' of the show.

Check it out, tell me what you think.

dude, I'm not familiar with the show, but your art, as always, kicks ass! Maybe someday I'll ink something.... maybe ...

Brother Jacob~!
The bite of the hard lines and shadows in your stuff is delicious!
The look on the face is nasty-perfect.

I need your book(s).
