Since it's the Cherry Blossom Festival, let's talk about Ghibli movies

Hayao Miyazaki's son, Goro will be directing a new Ghibli movie, Tales of EarthSea. He also has a blog up as he writes what it means for him to be following the similar path his father had taken. Hayao Miyuzaki is hailed as one of the world's greatest animation directors but apparently, according to his son, Goro, he's along the lines of the worst of fathers.

Within Goro's blog, I believe that even he questions himself why he's going this route, into animation, while he had always avoided it from the beginning. Perhaps it's a way to find out more about his father that nearly never really raised him.

It's quite odd to me that Hayao Miyazaki, man who has devoted his life to creating wonderful stories for other children (around the world even) to enjoy, couldn't take the time to watch his own son grow up. Could it be that all the love that Hayao had, that should have gone to his children, ended up going to his animations instead?

Here are the linked entries where Goro talks about his father.

I find very courageous the journey of Goro... so much pression in the shadow of his living god of father.
It's also a prove of a perfect love between father and son.
In the other hand , Goro is very lucky to have such a mentor-sensei-help :)
