...but we're huge in Santa Fe

The Sante Fe newsweekly has included an article on the local comic creators group and the anthology we've put together in its annual Fall Guide. And our first page is one of the illustrations, complete with a misspelled credit (in the print version, anyway).

Unfortunately, the article doesn't really go too much into the anthology. The only real restrictions on submissions to Hospital Stories were size and color (black and red) — and the story had to involve a hospital in some way. The group pulled together (and Monica designed) a 100-page book in about two months; the result is a pretty amazing range of styles and approaches and an impressive display of talent. But if the Xeric grant doesn't come through, it's going to be a while until it gets printed.

In the meantime, we've made a PDF of Autumn, our contribution, available for download.

That's all very cool, mon! Man, ghost dog...ghost dog...now of thinking of the movie Ghost Dog, one of my favorites. So what inspired your story?

Some of the inspiration is kind of partially sort of semi-autobiographical. Mostly it was (despite the appearance of the squirrel) trying to achieve something totally different from our usual work.

Thanks for the kind words.

I thought it might be, given that it's in New England. When are you arriving into D.C.?

man, what a sweet little piece! My parents dog, a fine yellow lab of about 3 years, was recently hit by a fire truck and killed in their small western Maryland town. It was so sad to have to tell my kids about it, and then to take them over to help cheer my parents up.

I think I'll send the link for this to my Dad... I think he'll appreciate it.

Grat job gang!

That's a great little story.

One of my favorite details in the piece is that the car in the last panel is parked really crooked in the spot. That was well-placed.

It's really different. Moving. And I appreciated the display of the words as they're released while viewing the pages. I sure would like to see that get published.
